To serve our Shastras – to collect, preserve, research and teach their highest eternal wisdom – through the most revered means in the contemporary society and help their effective establishment for the next 10,000 years.

We aim to be a leading research center and academic institute that is dedicated to preserving, researching and disseminating the rich history, philosophy and cultural heritage of India.

Bhaktivedanta Research Center

Our mission is to facilitate an inclusive academic environment for national and international scholars.

We want to offer them accredited academic programs including PhD, MA, Diploma and Certificate courses, and excel in qualitative research in the diverse fields. Conferences, seminars and workshops are a regular feature at the BRC They provide a forum for presenting research work, an opportunities to researchers and academicians to exchange views.

BRC has a rich physical collection of over 17,000 books, 4,000 journals and 70 manuscripts covering diverse topics of culture of Bengal. The vibrancy of research programs at the BRC is accentuated by the high-quality publications.

Dr. Sumanta Rudra

Dean Academic Affairs

Subhankar Mistry

He completed BSC in Geography Hons. from Calcutta University and B.Ed from Kurukshetra University.

He joined the Bhaktivedanta Research Centre in 2018 as a Library assistant. His main task is to scan our rare and old books and make PDFs out of them. Alongside he is also managing our guest house at the institute.

Sourish Das

He is a researcher and curator at the Bhaktivedanta Research Center, Kolkata, specialising in Gaudiya Vaishnava history, literature, and tradition in colonial Bengal. His major contributions include researching and curating the Bhaktivinoda Asan Museum in Kolkata, developing the TOVP Mayapur exhibit on Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur (2024), and creating an exhibition on Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu at the Asiatic Society (2025). He is passionate about studying rare historical materials, translating them into English, and presenting them to both academic and devotional audiences. In addition, he is actively involved in research projects and leads manuscript mission work with his team across various parts of India—especially Bengal—and Bangladesh.
